Barbara Braunohler - Portraitist

Barbara Braunohler came to Canada from Germany in 1953, and
has continued to make Toronto her home. Here, she received her
art education at the Central Technical School and the former Artist's
Workshop.

Since then she has specialized in portraiture and tries to capture
the total personality, the psychological truth as well as the outward
appearance of the sitter. The expressive potential and infinite
mutability of the human face - the mirror of personality, is the source
of constant challenge and fascination for her.

Over time, Barbara Braunohler has participated in a number of
group - shows and had several solo - shows. Her work is represented
in the public and private sector, in Canada and Germany.

Barbara Braunohler has been teaching drawing and painting
